Easter O God, whose blessed Son made himself known to his
disciples in the breaking of bread: Open the eyes of our faith, that
we may behold him in all his redeeming work; who lives and reigns
with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for
ever. Amen.
Preface of Easter: . . . but chiefly
are we bound to praise you for the glorious resurrection of your Son
Jesus Christ our Lord; for he is the true Paschal Lamb, who was
sacrificed for us, and has taken away the sin of the world. By his
death he has destroyed death, and by his rising to life again he has
won for us everlasting life.

[Source: Morehouse Publishing] Critical issues facing our planet --
climate change, genetically modified food, water pollution, HIV/AIDS, and ecological
justice -- these (and others) are addressed in this collection of presentations from the
Global Anglican Congress held in Hartebeesport, South Africa, in August 2002. Religious
leaders, scholars, and environmentalists from several countries present data and perspectives
meant not only to inform but also to urge us to do much more to preserve the resources
of our earth.
The book concludes with three homilies from the Congress, along with twelve Provincial and
Country Reports, from four continents, on environmental and economic trends. Photos from the
Congress are included.
