Proper 5C Second Sunday after Pentecost, June 10, 2007

Rite 2, Eucharistic Prayer A

During the season of Pentecost (May 27 - November 25) we’ll use Form III of the Prayers of the People, which begins on page 387.

Lections: 1 Kings 17:17-24 (Elijah raises the son of the widow of Zeraphath from death.)
First Lesson: Psalm 30:1-6,12-13 Exaltabo te, Domine (I will exalt you, O Lord.)
Second Lesson: Galatians 1:11-24 (The revelation of the Gospel to Paul was not of human origin.)
Gospel: Luke 7:11-17 (Jesus raises the son of the widow of Nain from death.)

Collect for Proper 5: The Sunday closest to June 8
O God, from whom all good proceeds: Grant that by your inspiration we may think those things that are right, and by your merciful guiding may do them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Preface of the Lord’s Day: Of God the Son
Through Jesus Christ our Lord; who on the first day of the week overcame death and the grave, and by his glorious resurrection opened to us the way of everlasting life.
